Ingredients For the Recipe

You’ll need just 4 simple ingredients to make these sesame banana breakfast patties. 

  • Bananas: 2
  • Sesame seeds: ¼ cup
  • Cinnamon powder: A pinch
  • Vanilla essence: 1 tsp

How to Make the Sesame Banana Breakfast Patties

Once you have your ingredients ready, here’s what you’ll need to do to make the breakfast patties.

Preheat the oven to 220℃.

Using a blender, make a paste of the bananas. 

add all the other ingredients into banana paste

Next, transfer the paste to a mixing bowl and add the rest of the ingredients. Give everything a good mix.

Line a baking tray with parchment paper. 

Take a cookie cutter/ring. Place it on the baking tray and add the banana sesame mixture. Make as many circular discs as you can.

Bake at 180℃ for 25-30 minutes.

What Else Can I Add to the Sesame Banana Breakfast Patties?

I’ve kept the recipe simple and easy, but if you really want to take the flavors up a notch, you can add in some more ingredients or bring in some variations to this recipe. 
If you love the flavor of chocolate, you can add some chocolate chips or a dash of good quality cocoa powder to the mixture.

How Do I Store the Leftovers?

This is not one of those recipes that can be made ahead of time and stored for later. I would highly recommend finishing these patties up as soon as you make them, and not storing them for too long, as they can start to lose their color and texture.

How Can I Make these Breakfast Patties More Crispy?

These sesame banana breakfast patties will have a soft, tender texture when cooked. If you’re looking to lend them a bit of crispiness, you can add some rice flour into the mixture.

Tips & Tricks to Make the Sesame Banana Breakfast Patties

While making these breakfast patties is super easy, you might want to take note of these little tips and tricks to nail the recipe. 

  • While these breakfast patties are naturally sweet thanks to the sweetness of the bananas, if you really want to make them sweeter, you can add some brown sugar or a dash of maple syrup or honey to the mixture. 
  • I’ve used regular sesame seeds for this recipe, but if you want some extra flavor, you can use toasted sesame seeds instead. 
  • I would recommend using ripe or slightly overripe bananas for this recipe. These bananas have the perfect sweetness you’re looking for, and as opposed to raw bananas, they are easier to cook too. 
  • I have chosen to bake these breakfast patties, but if you want, you can cook them in the Air Fryer if you want to make them quicker. 
  • You can also just cook them on the pan, and use the banana sesame mixture like you would pancake batter. 
  • Remember to use a good quality non-stick pan to make these patties, so they don’t end up burning or sticking to the pan.
