Ingredients For the Recipe

You’ll need just 3 simple ingredients to make the party puffs.

  • Puff pastry (square): 1
  • Marmalade of your choice: 1 tbsp
  • Blueberry: 1

How to Make the Quick Party Puffs

Once you have all your tools and ingredients ready, here’s what you need to do to make the party puffs.

Preheat the oven to 180℃.

Puff pastry sheet

Take a puff pastry square sheet.

Using a knife make straight cuts about half a centimeter away from the edges.

Cut 4 cuts on the pastry

Make 4 cuts but just 2 of the opposite edges fully cut. The other 2 cuts do not join them completely and leave some gap between them.

Fold the cut part to the opposite side

Take one of the fully cut edges and fold it on top of the opposite cut edge which you have cut with the knife.

Fold the cut part to the opposite side

Repeat for the edge exactly opposite to the one you have folded. It should look like shown in the picture.

Add marmalade in the middle

Place the marmalade in the depression formed at the center.

Add one blueberry

Top it with a blueberry.

Transfer the stuffed puff pastry into the oven and bake at 180℃ for 15-20 minutes or until it becomes golden brown in color.

Ready to enjoy quick party puffs

Remove from the oven and serve hot.

The fun part about making these quick party puffs is the fact that you can totally experiment with the fillings. If you’re not too fond of marmalade, you can also try stuffing it with a savory mixture of chopped veggies, seasonings and cheese.
And if you’re a chocolate lover, you can stuff the puff pastry with some chocolate spread too. Side view of Quick Party Puffs

What Can I Use Instead of Puff Pastry?

Crescent rolls are the perfect substitute for puff pastry for this recipe- your party puffs will end up having nearly the same texture and flavor. You can also use homemade pastry puff dough as an alternative. Top view of Quick Party Puffs

Can I Prep the Recipe in Advance?

Yes! You can actually prep the puffs in advance and freeze them for later.
Bake them, allow them to cool down and transfer them to a freezer safe container. You can freeze these for months, and defrost and reheat them whenever you want to enjoy them. Top view image of Quick Party Puffs plate

How Do I Store the Leftovers?

Just make sure you allow them to cool down completely before you transfer them to an airtight container. Zoom in image of Quick Party Puffs

Tips & Tricks to Make the Quick Party Puffs

Making these quick party puffs is super easy, but you wouldn’t want to miss out on these easy tips and tricks to make sure to get the texture and flavor spot on!

  • If you’re not too keen on having a very intensely sweet filling for the puffs, you can use a half and half mixture of cream cheese and the marmalade or jam.
  • You can use both full fat or low fat versions of the puff pastry- it all depends on your personal preference.
  • To lend a nice shine to the puffs, glaze them with some whisked egg using a pastry brush.
  • If you’re not too keen on using eggs, you can also use butter as a glaze.
  • Remember not to overfill the puffs with marmalade- you’ll risk it spilling out and getting burned while the puffs are baking.
