Frequently Asked Questions

What Else Can I Add to the Air Fryer Breakfast Cereal Cookies?

I’ve used a mix of nuts and dried cranberries for a bit of additional texture and flavor, but you can also play around with other toppings and mix-ins of your choice.
Chocolate chips and chocolate chunks, candied nuts and coconut flakes are all excellent choices. crunchy air fried breakfast cereal cookies

How Do I Store the Leftovers?

Your leftover Air Fryer breakfast cereal cookies can be stored at room temperature for 2-3 days, or refrigerated for up to 5 days. I would recommend using an airtight container to preserve their freshness.
If the cookies have lost their texture, you can pop them in the Air Fryer again for a couple of minutes to get them to crisp up again. sweet air fried breakfast cereal cookies

Tips & Tricks to Make the Air Fryer Breakfast Cereal Cookies

Ready to try these delicious breakfast cookies? Here are a few tips and tricks you might want to take note of.

  • Remember to portion out the cookie mixture evenly, so that all the cookies are nearly the same size, and are cooked all the way through.
  • Also make sure you leave a bit of space between each cookie to allow airflow through the basket. This will again, ensure even cooking of the cookies.
  • Preheating the Air Fryer is another must as it creates the perfect environment for the cookies to start to bake.
  • Based on your Air Fryer model and the size of your cookies, it may take anywhere between 10-15 minutes for them to cook perfectly. You may want to check the cookies at the 10 minute mark and then move on to further cooking if needed.
  • You can use pretty much any breakfast cereal of your choice for this recipe, or even experiment with a mix of two different cereals.
  • To bump up the protein content in these cookies, you can also add in a tablespoon of creamy or crunchy peanut butter into the mix.
  • I haven’t used any additional sweetener in the recipe, but if you’re using unsweetened breakfast cereal, you might want to add some powdered sugar or a dash of honey or maple syrup to bring some sweetness into these cookies.
