Frequently Asked Questions

What Else Can I Add to the Mint Lemon Ginger Tea?

I used honey to sweeten the tea, but you can use aspartame or plain sugar instead if you want to keep the tea vegan.
In addition to the mint and lemon, you can also add a pinch of turmeric powder or some holy basil leaves or just a bit of chamomile to the tea mixture to enhance the immune boosting properties of this tea.
Lemon grass is also a wonderful addition to this herbal tea, and is particularly helpful for the cold and cough season. top view of mint lemon ginger tea

How Do I Store the Leftovers?

If you have any leftover tea, you can store it in a glass container in the refrigerator for up to two days.
I would recommend reheating the tea in the microwave. hot mint lemon ginger tea

Tips & Tricks to Make the Mint Lemon Ginger Tea

While making this tea is super easy, you might want to keep these little tips and tricks in mind as well

  • If you don’t have fresh ginger root, you can make do with some dried ginger or powdered ginger as well. Remember to start off with a tiny amount, as powdered or dried ginger has a concentrated flavor.
  • If you don’t like the texture of the chia seeds, you can skip adding those. They are completely optional, but I would highly recommend adding them, as they also pack in a lot of health benefits
  • Remember to use your standard classic tea leaves as opposed to the flavored ones. This will help the flavors from all the other ingredients shine through.
  • You can also try out different variations of this recipe by adding other ingredients like thyme, oranges, lime, agave and using different kinds of tea like green tea, white tea, Earl Gray and Rooibos.
  • In fact, you can also enjoy this tea cold. Simply prepare the brew in advance and refrigerate it and then add in the herbs and fruits of your choice before topping it with some ice cubes. This can be a great refreshing summer drink to sip on.
