Frequently Asked Questions

What Else Can I Add?

One of the best things about this salad is the fact that it is full of versatile flavors and ingredients, which is why you can add a lot more into the salad than just sticking to what’s on the ingredients list.
Throw in some other favorite veggies of your choice- think carrots, lettuce leaves, boiled potatoes, sautéed zucchini, sautéed green beans, cucumber, cherry tomatoes etc.
Bean sprouts can also make for a fun, nutritive addition to this salad. Prefer a little crunch factor? Pan-roast some of your favorite seeds and then add them into the salad. Yummy Raw Mango Tofu Salad

Can I Prep the Salad in Advance?

You definitely can! The marinade is super easy to put together, and can last for weeks in your refrigerator. Just remember to use a glass jar or an airtight container to store it.
Then, all you need to do is put the salad together whenever you want to- it’ll just take a few minutes of chopping and prep time. Zoom in image of Raw Mango Tofu Salad

How Can I Store the Leftovers?

Your leftover salad can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for a day. Most salads can stay fresh for a day, not more, simply because they use fresh ingredients that can start to lose water and turn limp when they come in contact with the spices and seasonings.
This salad can also be used as a filling for your tortillas (in addition to other ingredients of course) or tossed into some noodles, or even stuffed into your tortillas. Tasty Raw Mango Tofu Salad

Tips & Tricks to Make the Raw Mango Tofu Salad

Making the raw mango tofu salad is relatively easy, but keeping these additional tips and tricks in mind can help you take things up a notch.

  • Don’t forget to top the salad with a generous sprinkle of freshly chopped herbs of your choice- cilantro is the best, but you can opt for any other herb too.
  • To enhance the nutritive value of the salad, you can also add some microgreens into the mix.
  • Want to keep the salad vegetarian? Skip the fish sauce.
  • You can also experiment with different ingredients for the dressing and for the toppings- sesame oil, peanut butter, crunchy spring onions, coconut flakes, and basil make for some good additions.
  • Don’t have tofu? You can replicate the same recipe by just using cottage cheese cubes instead.
  • To balance the tanginess and heat of the salad dressing, consider adding some honey or maple syrup.
  • Not too fond of the sourness of the raw mangoes? You can use ripe mangoes for the recipe too!

Serving Ideas & Suggestions

This flavorful salad works wonderfully on its own, but you can, of course, pair it with any grilled meat or main of your choice. It also tastes amazing when served alongside any Indian curry like the authentic Indian Vindaloo curry or a comforting fenugreek dal or just something as simple as the Instant Pot peas pulao.
