Tips & Tricks to Make the Air Fried Raw Banana Fritters

Before you jump into this recipe, here are a few tips and tricks you might want to keep in mind

  • After boiling the raw banana, allow it to cool down completely and remove all the excess liquid before mashing the banana. Any extra moisture will end up making the fritter mixture too runny and difficult to handle.
  • Remember, not to over crowd the Air Fryer basket while making these raw banana fritters.
  • Midway through the cooking process, remember to flip the fritters and brush them with a little oil to make them nice and crispy.
  • If the raw banana mixture seems to runny, you can mix a bit of rice flour or all-purpose flour to thicken it up.
  • Alternatively, you can place a parchment paper in the Air Fryer basket and then add the raw banana fritters mixture.
  • To lend these banana fritters a bit of robust flavor, you can add some chaat masala as a seasoning into the mixture.
  • Another great idea to make these fritters more healthy and delicious is to add some coarsely chopped peanuts into the mixture. This will also lend the fritters a bit of a crunchy texture.

Notes

  • To boil the raw banana, put the entire banana along with the peel for boiling. If boiling in a pressure cooker, 3-4 whistles are enough. If boiling in a vessel, boil for about 15 minutes or until it starts to feel soft.
  • You should be able to remove the peel easily once it’s properly boiled.
