Frequently Asked Questions

What Else Can I Add to the Easy Banoffee Cups?

In addition to everything that I used, you could also try and bring a bit of variation to these banoffee cups, and add in some mini chocolate chips for a bit of texture, or drizzle some chocolate sauce along with the caramel sauce.
Grated chocolate or a light sprinkle of cocoa powder can also be really helpful and can jazz up your simple-looking banoffee cups. zoom in image of easy banoffee cups

How Do I Store the Leftovers?

Your leftover banoffee cups can be refrigerated for up to a day, if not longer. If you’ve topped the cups with bananas, you might want to finish them up as quickly as you can, as the bananas can start to turn brown with time.
Remember to cover the individual cups with cling wrap to preserve their freshness. side view of easy banoffee cups

Tips & Tricks to Make the Easy Banoffee Cups

Making the banoffee cups is super easy, but you might want to take note of these tips and tricks too.

  • If you don’t have digestive biscuits, you can use graham crackers or any other mildly flavored biscuits- they’re the next best alternative.
  • I used caramel sauce to get that buttery sweetness, but if you have some extra time, you can actually scratch-make the classic dulche de leche sauce and use it instead.
  • You can crush the digestive biscuits into a powder by blitzing it in a food processor or transferring it to a Ziploc bag and then using your rolling pin to crush it.
  • Remember to use cold cream when you’re preparing the whipping cream. This will ensure that the cream has a fluffy and airy texture, just the way you want it to have.
  • I wouldn’t recommend using low fat cream for this recipe. Stick to the full fat version to get the perfect creaminess and richness you’re looking for.
  • To tone down the sweetness of the dessert cups and bring in a bit of extra flavor, you can sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon powder onto the sliced bananas.
