My version is saucy, garlicky, and perfectly pan-fried with crisp edges. I guess that’s enough to sell this amazing recipe. Well, then, let’s get to the recipe for pan-fried sesame garlic tofu. 

If you don’t know, I actually make my own tofu. Find my version on the blog. For those who don’t know, tofu is a popular plant-based protein that is made from soybeans.

It is a versatile ingredient that can be used in a variety of dishes, and it offers numerous health benefits.

Ingredients

  • 14 oz extra firm tofu
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons of sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons of sesame seeds
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Drain the tofu and cut it into 1-inch cubes.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce and cornstarch until smooth.
  3. In a large skillet, heat the sesame oil over medium heat.
  4. Add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant (about 1 minute).
  5. Add the tofu to the skillet and cook until lightly browned on all sides (about 5 minutes).

  1. Pour the soy sauce mixture over the tofu and stir to coat evenly.
  2. Cook until the sauce has thickened (about 2 minutes).
  3. Sprinkle the sesame seeds on top and stir to combine.
  4. Serve hot with rice and vegetables, garnished with additional sesame seeds and black pepper.
