Heat the entire banana leaf over low to medium flame. Do not burn it. Heat just until the color changes. Then cut out equal sized rectangular pieces.
Heat a pan and add the rice flour. Dry roast it for 5 minutes.
Next, add water and stir the rice flour. Keep adding water and sauteing until the mixture comes together like a dough. Make sure there are no crumbs or small pieces. The dough should be soft.
Heat jaggery in a pan. Add the grated apples. Next, add water and let the mixture come to a boil. Saute and stir until the mixture gets thick. Keep aside and let it cool down.
Spread out the rice flour dough using your hands into a circular shape on the banana leaf.
Add the jaggery apple mixture at the center.
Next, fold the banana leaf.
Bring a steamer to a boil and add in the tied banana leaf. Let it steam for 35-40 minutes.
Remove the dessert from the banana leaf and serve.
