Ingredients

Ingredients For the green gram paste

  • ½ cup Green moong gram
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1 bunch Coriander leaves
  • ½ tablespoon Ginger garlic paste
  • 2 Green chilies
  • 1 tablespoon Salt
  • ¼ cup Water

Ingredients For the uttapams

  • 1 bowl Prepared green gram paste
  • 1 bowl Water
  • 1 Onions (finely chopped)
  • 1 Tomatoes (finely chopped)
  • 1 Coriander Leaves (finely chopped)
  • 1 cup Oil For drizzle

Instructions

  • Soak the green moong gram in enough water for about 2-3 hours.
  • Drain the water and transfer the soaked green gram to a blender.
  • Add cumin seeds, ginger, garlic, coriander leaves, green chilies, salt, and water. Blend into a smooth paste. You can add more water if required.
  • Transfer the paste to a mixing bowl. Add a little bit of water to reduce the consistency.
  • Heat a tawa. Drizzle some oil on top. Take a ladle full scoop of the prepared batter and add it to the pan. Flatten it out in circular motions.
  • Immediately sprinkle onions, tomatoes, and coriander leaves on top. Then roll it up into a cigar shape.
  • Serve hot as a delicious and nutritious breakfast.
