Pre-heat the air fryer at 400°F for 5 minutes.
In a mixing bowl, add all the ingredients for the pakodas and mix well.
Add water little by little and try to make it into a thick paste. The consistency should be so that the besan can bind together and you can create small roundish shapes for the pakodas.
Spray the air fryer basket with oil.
Place the small roundels of the besan mixture on the air fryer basket and cook them at 350°F for 8-10 minutes or until done.
Next, raise the temperature to 400°F for 2 minutes so that the pakodas are crispy.
You can flip them once in between and brush some oil so that they are cooked well. (Optional step)
For the green chutney, blend everything together in a blender. Adjust salt and lemon juice if required.
For the onion salad, mix everything together.
Serve the spring onion pakodas hot with green chutney and onion salad.
