Drain the tofu and cut it into 1-inch cubes.
14 oz extra firm tofu
In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce and cornstarch until smooth.
2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 1 teaspoon of cornstarch
In a large skillet, heat the sesame oil over medium heat.
2 tablespoons of sesame oil
Add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant (about 1 minute).
3 cloves of garlic
Add the tofu to the skillet and cook until lightly browned on all sides (about 5 minutes).
Pour the soy sauce mixture over the tofu and stir to evenly coat.
Cook until the sauce has thickened (about 2 minutes).
Sprinkle the sesame seeds on top and stir to combine.
2 tablespoons of sesame seeds
Serve hot with rice and vegetables, garnished with additional sesame seeds and black pepper.
