Ingredients

  • 1 cup Gram Flour Besan
  • 2 tablespoons Rice Flour
  • 2 Green Chilies chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 2 cups Water
  • Oil for deep-frying

For the Curry

  • 2 Tomatoes chopped
  • 1 Onion chopped
  • 2 Green Chilies chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger paste
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • ½ teaspoon Garam Masala Powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons Oil
  • 1 cup Water

Instructions

  • To make the dumplings, mix together gram flour, rice flour, green chilies, salt, turmeric, and water to form a batter.

  • Heat oil in a deep pan and drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil. Fry until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

  • To make the curry, heat oil in a saucepan and add the chopped onions, green chilies, minced garlic, and ginger paste. Cook until the onions are soft and translucent.

  • Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they are soft and mushy.

  • Add cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, garam masala powder, and salt. Cook for a couple of minutes until fragrant.

  • Pour in 1 cup of water and bring the mixture to a boil.

  • Add the fried dumplings to the curry and let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
  • Serve hot with rice or bread.
